U16s - U18s 8 week Session Plan

In this final youth age bracket it’s more important than ever to provide a healthy, competitive, challenging, inclusive and thriving environment. It’s an age characterised by endless opportunities and varying options. As teenagers become more independent and confident, they’re keen to explore other recreational activities and at times can lose focus for competitive sports. Making sure Rugby is still a familiar and enjoyable environment is key to seeing them stick at it. This 8-week session plan equips you with all the core drills, tips and drills to ensure youth are still growing in the game and becoming dominant in their positions and confident with the roles they play within their team. It’s tailored to create a fun and inclusive environment that promotes and teaches the basic core fundamentals of Rugby with a huge dose of expertise and technique for the more specialist areas of the game. Remember, as a coach, you can always make these drills and games easier or more challenging depending on the player’s level of proficiency.

U13s - U15s 8 week Session Plan

It’s generally safe to say that in this age group, the environment that rugby provides either captures these kids for a long time or loses them all together. The youth is either a fan of the game for life or they're on the edge wondering whether this sport is for them and whether they can be bothered putting in the effort to keep pursuing it. This is where your role as a Coach becomes more important than ever. At this age, youth are more independent and are presented with other options for hobbies and entertainment.
